Fast and Furious 8 Set To Arrive With The Biggest Cast Yet

Fans of, as well as the team behind the Fast and Furious extravaganza, have undoubtedly been through a lot since the beginning of the series. The movies, which brought the glory back to street racing with the most luxurious vehicles, also suffered a huge setback after cast member Pal Walker’s demise. However, despite Walker’s physical absence from the 2015 entry’s conclusion, ex-FBI agent Brian O’Conner did make a nostalgic appearance at the end of the film. Now we are getting ready for the release of a new installment- Fast and Furious 8, officially known as Fate of the Furious- and by the looks of it, the upcoming film is going to be the biggest yet. We are not quite sure if the directors have something in mind for Walker’s character, but before we get to the Fast and Furious 8 Release Date, let’s take a look at some of the key aspects of the film.

Fast and Furious Cast

Fast and Furious 8 will bring back most of the old cast members from the last film along with some notable new names. The returning cast members are regulars like Vin Diesel, who will reprive his role as Domini Toretto, Michelle Rodriguez as Dom’s wife Letty, Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs, and Kurt Russell as Frank Petty. Dom’s team is coming back in its entirety, so expect to see Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges, and Tego Calderon bring back the motley crew to life. Game of Thrones regular Nathalie Emmanuel returns as Ramsey from Furious 7, and so does Elsa Pataky. Jason Statham will make a return as Deckard Shaw, the man who had appeared in Furious 7 to avenge Owen’s  (played by Luke Evans in the sixth film) predicament at the hands of Dom.

In addition to the characters that fans love so much, some huge new names have been attached to the series with Fast and Furious 8. Helen Mirren will be seen in the capacity of Shaw’s mother, but for fans who would have loved watching the veteran actress take the lead behind the wheel, Mirren has said that she won’t be driving, sadly.

The main antagonist in Fast and Furious 8 is named Cipher, and she will be portrayed by none other than Charlize Theron. We have seen a whole lot of her in the trailer, and Petty describes her as the definition of modern terrorism, so you can be sure that this new threat will be fierce. From the trailers, it also looks like she will be the most manipulative villain yet. We can’t wait to see Theron own this new role. And while on the topic of villains, fans of Game of Thrones will see Tormund Giantsbane in an all new avatar in Fast and Furious 8 as Kristofer Hivju makes his debut in the franchise.

Clint Eastwood’s son Scott will also make an appearance in the film and play the partner to Kurt Russell’s character.

Fast and Furious 8 Story

Not much is known about what we’re going to see in the upcoming movie, but from what we seen and heard so far, Dom will face his toughest adversary yet who will force him to turn on those he considered to be the most important driving force of his life- his family. In Fast and Furious 8, Cipher deftly manipulates Dom into going against his family and betraying them and forces the man to become her ally. In an effort to stop this, Frank Petty and his team will try to forge an alliance with Deckard Shaw. We can tell that Shaw’s composed demeanor and agility in combination with Hobbs’ brute strength and courage will be something to watch out for. But how will the team carry on when the man who kept them together turns his back on them? More importantly, will they be able to bring him back? We can’t wait for the film’s release to find out all about it.

Coming to the Fast and Furious 8 release date, the film will premiere across theaters in the US on April 14.
